Anna Zavelson is set to take on the role of Christine Daaé in the long-running West End production of The Phantom of the Opera.
She begins her engagement on May 18, 2026, at His Majesty's Theatre and will perform through August 1, 2026, for a total of 11 weeks. Zavelson joins Dean Chisnall, who plays the Phantom in the production that marks its 40th year in London.
Her prior credits include portraying Christine in the immersive Off-Broadway revival titled Masquerade. She also appeared in a production of Light in the Piazza at New York City Center.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh confirmed the casting in an official statement released this week.
The limited engagement allows audiences at His Majesty's Theatre to see Zavelson bring her experience from New York productions to the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. The role of Christine requires both vocal precision and dramatic range across the show's demanding score.
Performances continue as normal outside the specified dates with the existing company. Ticket information for the May through August period is available through the official West End box office channels.
Zavelson is known for her powerful soprano voice and nuanced acting abilities that bring depth to every character she portrays. Her performances in previous roles have received critical acclaim from audiences and reviewers alike for their emotional intensity and technical skill. This opportunity represents a significant milestone in her burgeoning career on stage and highlights her growing reputation in major theatrical productions.
The Phantom of the Opera has been a staple of the West End since its opening and continues to attract audiences with its captivating story and memorable music. Zavelson's addition brings fresh energy to the production while honoring its long-standing legacy.
