Juliana Canfield and King Princess headline the Off-Broadway world premiere of Martyna Majok's stage adaptation of 'Girl, Interrupted' at The Public Theater.
The production transforms the cult favorite film into a play with music. An original score by Aimee Mann accompanies the narrative.
Previews began May 13 at Martinson Hall. The official opening takes place June 4, and the limited engagement has been extended through June 28.
Canfield portrays Susanna, building on her Tony-nominated performance in 'Stereophonic.' King Princess makes her stage debut as Lisa.
Emily Skinner appears as Dr. Wick and Ta'Rea Campbell plays Valerie. The cast also features Gabi Campo as Tori, Mia Pak as Grace, Katherine Reis as Daisy, Sally Shaw as Polly, and Manoel Felciano.
The show runs 110 minutes with no intermission.
Rehearsal photos and teaser videos appeared on The Public Theater's social channels and BroadwayWorld in the weeks leading to previews. The April casting announcement came through Playbill.
