Andrew Lloyd Webber stepped behind the turntables at the Broadhurst Theatre on May 29.
The composer appeared in the DJ booth during that evening's performance of Cats: The Jellicle Ball, joining original Cats star Ken Ard, who plays DJ Griddlebone in the revival.
A video released after the show shows Webber dropping the needle as the cast performed numbers from the score.
The moment occurred at the same venue where the revival opened on April 7.
Cats: The Jellicle Ball received nine Tony Award nominations this season, including Best Revival of a Musical.
Producers announced the same day that the limited engagement would extend through January 17, 2027.
The extension news was shared during a segment on ABC's The View.
Ken Ard welcomed the composer into the booth for the evening's set.
"It was an honor to have the creator of this music right there with me," said Ken Ard, who plays DJ Griddlebone in the revival.
The production reimagines the 1980s musical through a ballroom lens with live DJ elements integrated throughout the score.
Webber's appearance marked a direct link between the original Broadway production and this updated version.
The Broadhurst has hosted the show since previews began earlier this year.
Additional Tony nominations went to the director, choreographer, and several performers in featured roles.
Tickets for performances through the new closing date went on sale immediately after the extension was confirmed.
