Zachary Noah Piser and Hannah Kevitt activate their roles as the new Oliver and Claire in Maybe Happy Ending this week.
The pair begins performances on May 19, 2026, at the Belasco Theatre in New York. Piser takes over the role of Oliver after Darren Criss completed his final performance on May 17. Kevitt moves into the Claire role on a full-time basis following her work as the original standby and her earlier run in the part from February 17 through April 2.
Piser arrives with a strong list of Broadway credits that includes Redwood, Dear Evan Hansen, KPOP, and Wicked. Kevitt made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Back to the Future. Their combined experience positions them to continue the story of the helper robots and their evolving relationships.
The new leads join original cast members Dez Duron as Gil Brentley and Marcus Choi as James. The remainder of the ensemble stays in place to maintain continuity for audiences.
"The next generation of Helperbots have arrived!" said a representative from the Maybe Happy Ending production.
The Maybe Happy Ending production issued that statement to mark the transition. BroadwayWorld published the casting details on April 8 after receiving confirmation from theater management. The Shubert Organization released an official press statement that outlined the May 19 start date along with notes on the current tour cast preparations. Broadway News followed with additional reporting on the performers’ prior stage work and the production’s ongoing schedule at the Belasco.
Cast changes of this kind occur regularly in long-running Broadway shows. They allow new actors to bring fresh interpretations while preserving the central narrative about connection and technology. Theatergoers have already begun purchasing tickets for the updated lineup through standard outlets.
The Belasco Theatre continues to host the musical without interruption. Production staff have coordinated rehearsals to ensure a smooth handoff between the departing and incoming performers. Observers expect the show’s technical elements and musical numbers to remain unchanged. Additional preparations include detailed briefings for understudies and stage crew to support the seamless integration of the new performers into the established production framework.
